In April 2013 Malala Yousafzai featured on the cover of Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. She was only 15 years old.
At 13 she had become a BBC blogger advocating girls’ right for education in her native Pakistan even when the Taliban had banned girls form going to school. At 14 she was targeted and shot by radical Taliban militants while on her school bus.
She fully recovered and is now determined to campaign for all children to attend school, and to highlight the discriminations that girls often have to face. Despite new threats on her life, she is not at all deterred.
Here is an interview with Malala in The Daily Show.
