Daily Routines and Rituals

Last week we started talking about our routines and free time activities. Can you name all the things Mr Bean does when he wakes up in the morning?

How important do you think it is to follow the same routine?

Children are said to need some rituals as close as possible every day because it provides them with a sense of security. But are they still as important when we grow? Does it depend on our character or on our duties? What about artisits? If you were thinking that creative people escape from routine, you might want to read this article, where you will find out some of the daily rituals of the world’s most creative people.

What about you? How important is it for you to follow a strict routine every day?

Would you like to share some of your own daily routines and rituals? Here are some questions to help build the conversation:

  • Are routines important for you?
  • What is your daily routine? What is your favourite moment of the day? Why? What do you do?
  • Are you an early bird or a night owl? Why?
  • Is there any ritual you never skip?

  1. I never skip my coffee in the morning. During the week I hardly ever sit down to have it, and I carry it around the house. But, at the weekend I always sit at the kitchen table to have breakfast.
